Krieger Lewin Files Amicus Brief in the U.S. Supreme Court on Behalf of a Pro Bono Client

Earlier this month, Krieger Lewin partner Daniel Noble and associate Vlad Shafran were proud to file an amicus brief in the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of a pro bono client, the Due Process Institute, in support of the defendant’s petition for a writ of certiorari in Brian Benjamin v. United States, No. 24-142.  The amicus brief urges the Supreme Court to review Mr. Benjamin’s case in order to provide much needed clarity in cases involving allegations of bribery based on First Amendment-protected campaign contributions.

Krieger Lewin Helps Secure Victory for Pro Bono Client in Landmark Transgender Civil Rights Case

Krieger Lewin partner Daniel Noble serves as co-counsel, alongside the ACLU of Connecticut, to plaintiff Veronica-May Clark, a transgender person in the custody of the Connecticut Department of Correction.  Ms. Clark sued the CT DOC for failing to provide adequate treatment for her gender dysphoria in violation of the Eighth Amendment.  Following a bench trial in July, a federal judge in the District of Connecticut agreed and ordered the CT DOC to provide Ms. Clark with adequate gender-affirming medical and mental health treatment.
